Wunburra Lookout
The first lookout you come to as you reach Springbrook Mountain. It’s worth a stop and it’s near the Visitor Information Centre where you can collect maps and brochures 24/7. A beautiful vista towards the Gold Coast inviting you to see more of Springbrook.
Best of All Lookout
This lookout is well named. It is on the edge of the escarpment with spectacular views to Murwillumbah, Mt Warning (core of the volcano) and Brunswick Heads in northern New South Wales (Australia).
And it’s not just the view that is spectacular. You’ll walk through a ‘Lord of the Rings’ forest full of old knarled trees, moss covered rocks, ancient plants and you just might even catch a glimpse of the reclusive Albert’s Lyrebird. This is one of just a few living examples of an ancient temperate rainforest. Definitely not to be missed.
Canyon Lookout
This lookout is on the road and has views across the canyon to the Gold Coast and beyond. From Canyon Lookout you can see the high rise of the Gold Coast skyline some 20km’s ahead of you. Below is a tangle of dense sub-tropical rainforest. Wheelchair accessible.
Purling Brook Falls Lookout
There are 2 lookouts on either side of the falls – about 5 minutes walk from the car park. If you like taking photos, you’ll get some great shots of the falls from these lookouts. You will also see the suspension bridge at the base of the falls.
Hardy’s Lookout
You’ll get a view over Springbrook from this lookout. It offers views of the farmland on the mountain. Lush green paddocks dotted with cattle and horses. It’s on Springbrook Rd and easy to access for wheelchairs.
